The street's were illuminated with the blue lights meant to replace our beautiful, beloved sun. Today is the sun's funeral. And I refuse to attend the funeral of something that almost annihilated the human race. Humans. What intelligent animals we are.
I walk at a slow pace. No need to rush home. It's not like burglars or murders are out tonight. Or any night for that matter. Every since the sun died, the planet has been put into a permanent ice age. So everyone's had to move under the fucking ground. Plus I'm claustrophobic. Great for me, huh?
The sun died three years ago. A year before it's death, scientists were watching the sun's progression towards it's imminent death at the International Space Station. After finding signs that the sun would collapse early, countries had to put aside their differences in hopes of saving humanity. Go teamwork. Seeing that the sun swallowed Mercury and Venus in a matter of four months, it only gave them two months to figure a way for them rescue us. Two and half months later, with everyone feeling the effects of the Earth beginning to fry itself, some very sleep-deprived scientists came up with a metal that could withstand the sun's heat intensity and possible a major supernova. How they did it? I honestly don't know and nor do I give a fuck. As long as I'm breathing why should it matter?
The sent god knows how many space shuttles into space to put together a... let's see.. about.. I don't know... nine hundred piece shield using simply Earth's gravity. Amazingly full of shit. But it work. And we survived. Now it's this puny, little, white star we're gravitating around. I mean it's kind of pretty though. But it's a bitch and I hate bitches. There goes Jaze. Perfeccctttt timing.
